“NOT ACCEPTABLE!”
We all understand that ALL LIVES MATTER, and yes they do matter! I have love for all! But it’s more about the Black Lives that are taken by the hands of the ones that are suppose to “protect and serve” us! It’s sad that we have to go through this in this day and age. Back in slavery days we had no choice but to take whatever they threw at us, but now it’s so different. We are in new times! We don’t have to take it anymore and we won’t! We shouldn’t be going through this and we will not continue to do so.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I know it’s true, you rarely hear about people NOT of color being beat down or killed by a Police Officer. EVER! Makes you wonder…”What’s really going on in the world?” “Why only people of color?” “Are they trying to make or treat us like slaves again?” I would pray not! We still don’t have an answer til this day! We are not in slavery anymore, this is a new day, so…why?! IT HAS TO STOP! We(African Americans) matter and we are somebody! People need to stop looking at skin color and see what’s really going on.
No one is above the law! Not even the police. Right is right and wrong is wrong! Some of these police officers are abusing their power and not caring about nobody or nothing because they “think” they are above the law! And they “feel” like they get to do what they want to do because they wear the badge. And it’s not fair to the citizens nor is it fair to PEOPLE OF COLOR! And it also isn’t fair to the “GOOD” Police officers. These Police officers are not even being prosecuted properly for killing ANYONE, especially the people of color. And even IF they are prosecuted they don’t serve the time that they should serve.
EXAMPLES
Laquan McDonald was a 17 year old young African American who was fatally shot on October 20, 2014 by Chicago Police Jason Van Dyke. The officer “claimed” that McDonald was running towards him with a knife, but the video clearly showed him running way! He did not deserve to be shot one or sixteen times! The jury convicted the officer of second-degree murder as well as 16 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm. But the judge overturned the jury and only gave him 81 months and he was eligible for parole in three years. This officer was on his way to do LIFE in prison until the judge said OTHERWISE.
WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?!! WHERE?!
And let’s talk about justice for Breonna Taylor!
Breonna Taylor was a 26 year old African American who was fatally shot in her home on March 13, 2020 by white plainclothes officers Johnathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove of the the Louisville Metro PD. They forced their way into her home “without” announcing who they were! The boyfriend, Kenneth Walker fired a warning shot…as he should! I would’ve done the same thing. You never know who breaking into your home to harm you. They only charged “one” officer, Hankison, with 3 counts of wanton endangerment for endangering a neighbor of Taylor with his shot. That’s some bull if I’ve ever heard it! NONE of the officers were charged with her death! When they should have been! They should be on their way to doing LIFE! But, no….they at home enjoying their time with their family! Something that Breonna can never do again.
There are many more that I could name that were “WRONGED” by our system. We need our Justice System to do better! Like I said before “NO ONE, NOT EVEN POLICE OFFICERS, ARE ABOVE THE LAW!” We have jurors who wants to convict, but the judges are not with it at all! These officers should be punished for their crimes as we are punished for ours! It’s only fair!!! We deserve better and we deserve a better system!
I understand that the Police has a right to bear arms and defend themselves, but why kill? They kill when it’s not necessary to kill! And that is a part of POLICE BRUTALITY!It is unacceptable! They should do the time when they do the crime, just like EVERYONE ELSE! It’s not fair to us and It’s not fair to these Mothers losing their children to the wrongful doing of police! It’s time for a change in our Judicial System and the way they do the things that they do. The Police is suppose to protect and serve not kill and serve.
-IN MY OPINION-
LADI M. TALKS

As darkness rises there’s nowhere to go
As darkness rises there’s no one in sight
As darkness rises we must continue to grow
As darkness rises, will we be alright?
As darkness rises we feel all alone
As darkness rises we need a helping hand
As darkness rises will we find our way home?
As darkness rises we depend not on man
As darkness rises we’re drowning in sorrow
As darkness rises will all hope fade away?
As darkness rises we must fight for tomorrow
As darkness rises let us pray.

“THE MOMENT OF PASSION”
BY: Andria M. Moses
As you place your lips upon my mine
I feel a shiver within my spine
The way you touch me makes me weak
But, another love I dare not seek
As you put your arms around my waste
I can feel the warmth of your embrace
My body’s telling you to stay
But my heart is pushing you away
For this is only a moment of passion
These feelings will soon pass on

Attacked by many
Road by few
This lonely train didn’t know what to do
As it waited for the rain
It felt no pain
For there was no one to ride
But the graffiti on its side
-Andria M. Moses

Stay Hidden away from this horrible encounter that we’re facing
Keep strong, keep the faith, and keep on living
Examine what’s going on around you, and do what’s best
Only God can help us past this test
Avoid contact with one another and distance yourself
Do what is told and value your health
Listen to the instructions that were given to protect you from harm
Stay safe, stay alert, and stay alarmed
-ANDRIA M. MOSES

In the chilling rain
I feel nothing but pain
As she ripped out my heart and walked away
I had nothing to say
For it was all on me
I was blinded by her infinite beauty
I didn’t know that she could do this to me
But I must keep quiet and calm
And just linger on in this storm

We’ve taken a lot of hits over the years, but we never really knew “why”.
Fighting all of the things that was right beneath the eye
We never knew how life really could effect us
All we did was socialize, and put in all our trust
But I stand beside you as we go through this sickness and pain
Don’t worry, I’ll be your umbrella through this awful pouring rain.
Together, we’ll pull through this heartache and misery
I’ll show you how we’ll make it right, just follow me.
Who knew that it would really be a time when we needed to come together
Now we see that the time is now…we really need to stick with each other
